This tour takes us to the most northerly part of the Vatnajökull national park. We start off the day by visiting waterfalls. One of them, Dettifoss is a stark reminder of the the power exhibited by nature here in Iceland. Over 100 metres wide and 45 metres in height, Dettifoss is considered to be the most powerful waterfall in Europe.

Slightly further upstream is the smaller Selfoss waterfall.

Godadoss waterfall, the famous 'Waterfall of the Gods' and then we visit the Lake Myvatn.

We also visit Jokulsargljufur Canyon, Hljodaklettar Echo Cliffs, Asbyrgi Canyon, Tjornes Peninsula Cliffs where Puffins nest in the summer.

A wide horseshoe-shaped canyon with sheer cliffs rising to a height of 100 metres, Ásbyrgi is truly a marvel of nature. It is said to have been formed by one of the hooves of Oðinn´s eight footed horse Sleipnir. A rich and diverse woodland grows at the base of the canyon, which also features a distinctive rock formation known as Eyjan (“the island”). A small lake (Botnstjörn) attracts a variety of birdlife to the area. The canyon itself is over 3,5 km long and 1km wide. It was most likely formed by glacial flooding about 10000 years ago and is undoubtedly one of Iceland´s most remarkable natural features.

Finally, Husavik town, where you can use the GeoSea Geothermal Sea Bath (entrance fee not included).
